Handling errors

javascript
const res = await fetch(url, { headers })
if (!res.ok) {
  const error = await res.json().catch(() => ({}))
  if (res.status === 429) {
    await sleep(Number(res.headers.get('Retry-After') ?? 1) * 1000)
    // retry
  }
  throw new Error(`${res.status} ${error.code ?? ''}: ${error.message ?? res.statusText}`)
}
python
response = session.get(url)
if response.status_code == 429:
    time.sleep(int(response.headers.get("Retry-After", "1")))
elif not response.ok:
    error = response.json()
    raise RuntimeError(f"{response.status_code} {error.get('code')}: {error.get('message')}")
